research
I posted last week a link to the IAN Research group and today I received my first email from the group. Based on responses to a long list of questionnaires I filled out, about boy and the rest of the family, there is a UofM research group suitable for us.
Apparently you go and get a free evaluation that you can keep and give some blood and that's it. Sounds rather interesting to help assist in the research of Autism...perhaps we will do it...plus I would love an up to date evaluation done on boy!

don't sweat the small stuff
"That which is bitter to endure may be sweet to remember." ~ Thomas Fuller
We are on weekend #1 of no video games for boy. Our usual game playing schedule is that he can play on the weekends only; never during the week. However, Super Mario has become such an insistent obsession that extreme measures needed to be taken in hopes of helping him become a little less obsessive over it.
So, a plan was formulated last Sunday to eliminate video games for the next 4 weeks....an absolute torturous idea for him. The plan means there's no playing video games and no watching others playing video games. He can still play with his Super Mario guys, can still make Mario scenes on paper and legos, but has a limited amount of time he can talk about Mario with us.
You have no idea how hard this is for him and it breaks my heart to see him so sad about it, but I swear the alternative will put us 30 years down the road with him living in our basement hooked on Mario with a Mario'esque mustache....shudder.
He needs to be able to function without being consumed by thoughts of Super Mario, Nintendo, and all of the characters that are included....we shall see what happens.

interesting find
Today I found this website that others may find interesting...not sure yet exactly how it works, but there are several interactive questionnaires that you can do and view at anytime...

all you need is love
Keep stillness inside your heart, quiet your mind, breath and it will all be ok. Chant this to yourself over and over again and maybe eventually it will work =]
New updates on Boy - he has started a food program at sensory therapy. I will post the charts later...seems give working so far..he was very eager today to try new things with Ms. Sue, but didn't have the same level of enthusiasm at home....we are working it though....
Just keep on keeping on.
